Fly Fishing Tips

What is a dry/dropper?

This is a rig where you tie on a large dry fly such as a stimulator or grasshopper directly on to your leader. Then take a piece of tippet about 18-24" long and attach it to the hook shank of your dry fly and tie a bead head nymph on the other end. Simple...and very effective.

Don't Forget...

Thoreau wrote..."Many...go fishing all their lives without knowing it's not the fish they are after."

Fall in all it's glory

Fall is a wonderful time to fish. The days are cooler and the fish are more active getting ready for winter. It is shaping up to be a great fall for fishing with a nice monsoon season waning and the rivers looking good. Don't despair that summer is almost over, that's a good thing...Fall is almost here.

Tailwater Tips

Typically tailwater fisheries are a little tougher than others. Try using flourocarbon leaders or tippet to get a little edge. Rio Flouroflex Plus gives you extra strength and better invisibility. Just like a superhero.
