The Uncompahgre River at "Paco-chu-puk" is our version of Disneyland® for flyfishing. The extensive river structure, holes and runs have been created in the river below the Ridgway Dam creating a quality fishing experience. It is located in Ridgway State Park which is considered one of the crown jewels in the State Park System. Trout species include Rainbows, Cutthroats and Cutt-bows and Brown trout. For the Novice to the expert. “Paco” is an ideal half day fishing experience. This is one of our primary teaching waters for all aspects of fly fishing, and provides us a great place to teach those wanting to learn to read water. A typical Half day trip begins at the shop around at 8:00 AM or 12:00, where the staff will help the customers make sure they have the proper gear, flies and licenses to have a wonderful day on the river.
