Current Flow: 1,060 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Clear ---- Flows have dropped to just below 1100cfs which is a great flow. Fishing above the check dam has been good with midges. Try caddis pupa and midges below the roller dam. Fishing overall has been very good, stick with nymphs and midges for the most activity, but try a dry dropper along the edges for a change of pace.

Current Flow: 1,060 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Clear ---- It's still pretty hot in there during the day, but you can still fish through the day. Fish hoppers, stimulators or caddis with a dropper during the day, or try blasting some big nymphs through the faster water. The banks are full of hoppers and fish will take them, especially if it's in the shade, although the fish are getting pickier. There are also caddis hatches, so try a caddis dry or nymph with some movement. THE NORTH FORK IS very CROSSABLE and clear!!!

Current Flow: 129 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Fair but Fishable ---- Fishing in the Cimarron area is excellent. Great small stream fishing on the East Fork or Middle Fork, and good tailwater fishing below Silverjack Reservoir. Try a dry/dropper rig for best success, and look for an occassional hatch of small mayflies. Don't forget to look around, and enjoy the cooler weather.

Current Flow: 735 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Clear ---- Solid reports that the Gunnison is fishing very well from Almont all the way to Cooper Ranch. Wading the river is still a bit tough, since it is still high, but the river is clear so fishing good, especially from a boat.

Current Flow: 200 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Clear ---- The river is extremely clear, and even though it is high, it is starting to fish real well. Be very careful wading due to strong currents and very slick rocks. Large (#12) dark nymphs on the swing seem to be working the best. There is some dry action, but it hasn't really turned on yet. Dan's Fly Shop is open. Give him a call

Current Flow: 98 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Fair but Fishable ---- The San Miguel is finally fishing well and is low and clear. Try a dry stimulator with a dropper (prince, caddis or small stone). It is getting some pressure, so pick your spots, but it looks good from here on out.

Current Flow: 494 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Clear ---- Flows are starting to come down, but water is still pretty high. Fish the edges with caddis pupa or pheasant tails. Also look for a medium sized pink mayfly, use a pink cahill to match. There are some nice fish in there, see if you can catch 'em!

Uncompahgre River - Town - Colona:

Current Flow: 444 ft3/sec ---- River Clarity: Fair but Fishable ---- Flows remain high, but the river is clearing up to the usual mid-summer colors, especially in the mornings. Use #10-12 dark nymphs like a Half-back or bh Prince in the slower moving water.
Remember that this is a very fast moving river at these flows so be very cautious about wading.

Fishing in the evenings all through town has been good on adult caddis patterns. Remember that the river muddies up quickly, but also clears up fairly well.
