Dry-Droppers? - 07/18/2008:

Stream flows are steadily coming down and the fish are starting to look up. it's time to head to the high country and fish the smaller streams which are generally clear, but still have a significant amount of velocity. The dry-dropper setup is definitely worth trying on the East Fork, Big Blue, Fall Creek, Curecanti Creek, Cebolla Creek, etc., etc.

You thought the stonefly hatch was good, just wait till the fish are fully on hoppers! They've already started taking hoppers and stimulators and with great flows, hopper fishing should be the best it's been in a while. Hop on.

Cimarron still a little high - 07/14/2008:

Water is still pretty high at the East and Middle Forks of the Cimarron, but you can still pick up fish on dry dropper rig. Below the dam is clearing and a bit high, but getting real close. Should be good soon!

Energizer bunny stones...still going. - 07/09/2008:

Well, believe it or not, there are still drys throughout the canyon. HOWEVER, it has slowed way down with the big drys above Pleasure Park and Ute Park up through Duncan. But you can still catch fish on big drys. Look for golden stones, grasshoppers (amazing soon), caddis, yellow sallies. Keep on fishing!

This hatch has legs... - 07/07/2008:

Still flying. This has been an amazing hatch and is still going on. Although quieter at Pleasure Park, fish are still coming up for drys all the way through the canyon. Great yellow sally hatches and caddis, but big drys are still the way to go. We still have a couple of 1 or 2 day float trips available for this week, but call us right away!

Stones Everywhere! - 07/04/2008:

The main hatch has moved upriver past Chukar, but the rest of the canyon as well as the Pleasure Park area continues to fish well on adults as well as Yellow Sallies, Golden Stones and Caddis. It doesn't get any better than this.

Hot Fishing - 07/03/2008:

For Firecracker hot fishing, head for Chukar and the National Park trails for the Big stones. Goldens, Yellow Sallies, PMDs and residual stone action make the inner Gorge fishing excellent. Go Fish!

Best hatch ever? - 07/02/2008:

Some of our longtime guides have had some of the best floats down the canyon ever (from a guides memory, so take it with a grain of salt). It has been amazing, great dry action, big fish. Drys are mostly gone from Pleasure Park and into the inner and upper canyon. Duncan, Bobcat, Chukar and the National Park trails are all awesome. Best hatch ever? Why not.
